Public Awareness and Community Services:

PHC Doctors Training Programme (7/6/01) : In collaboration with Director of Public Health, one PHC doctor was selected from each district and one day CME programme was organised for Multidisciplinary Management of Cleft Lip and Palate. All the associated departments of Sri Ramachandra Cleft and Craniofacial Center participated and made presentations.
VHN and Health Workers Training Programme (October and December 2001) : Done in collaboration with PHC Training Center , Poonamallee. This involves training of health workers in detecting anomaly, counseling parents, feeding of cleft babies and sensitization for cleft palate speech problems. With various camps, training sessions in SRMC and other hospital, about 2000 village health nurses and paramedical workers have been trained in handling cleft babies and their feeding.
Cleft Support Group : Fomation of Cleft Support Group of the parents/patients of cleft lip and palate children who are willing to work as Counsellor for cleft lip and palate children. January 2008

Inauguration of the Smile Train Project( 2/12/2001 ) : The Programme was inguruated by Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu and Dr. Linda D’Antonio, member of Medical Advisor Board, The Smile Train, USA .
Smile Train Day Celebration ( 3/12/2002 ): Sri Ramachandra Cleft and Craniofacial Center celebrated First Anniversary during the visit of President, Mr. Brian Mullaney and Vice President, Ms. DeLois Greenwood of The Smile Train.
Development of software for Cleft patients:
Sri Ramachandra Cleft and Craniofacial Center developed a software involving all the concerned departments to collect long-term data for their departments. This is the first step towards computerisation of all the data of cleft children.
