Dr. Jyotsna Murthy, hailing from Gujarat , completed her MBBS from M S University, Vadodara and MS (General Surgery) from Tata Memorial Hospital , Mumbai.
She joined plastic surgery training in LTMG hospital, Mumbai under tutelage of Dr. Ravin Thatte, a unique professor who gave her insight in spirituality and human emotion and relationship over and above the technical training in plastic surgery.
She completed her M Ch (Plastic Surgery) from Bombay University with Gold Medal.
After completing her training in plastic surgery, She lived in France for 4 years and gained training in aesthetic surgery.
She then moved to UK as Fellow of British Association of Plastic Surgeons before returning to India . The experience of rich French culture and its sense of beauty have helped her to perceive and enjoy the physical and natural beauty.
On her return to India , she joined Sri Ramachandra Medical College & RI (DU) in 1996, a prestigious tertiary care center in Southern India (www.srmc.edu) She is at present holding position of Professor of Dept of Plastic Surgeon and Cheif Co-ordinator Cleft & Craniofacial Center . She keeps update with the latest knowledge of plastic and aesthetic surgery by attending various conferences and training program at home and abroad. In addition to her professional activities, she spends long hours doing free surgeries for various facial anomalies for poor patients.
